Nervous or Anxious Dogs

We get it — grooming can feel like a lot for sensitive dogs. Please tell us at booking if your dog is nervous, a senior, or has had a rough time at another shop. We slow the whole appointment down, take breaks when they need one, and use the calmest handling we know. Our goal is for your dog to leave feeling better than they came in.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a grooming appointment take?

Most grooms take 2 to 4 hours depending on size, coat type, and condition. We never rush — your dog gets one-on-one attention from start to finish, and we will text you when they are ready for pickup.

Do you sedate dogs for grooming?

No. We never use sedation. Our groomers rely on patient handling, gentle technique, and plenty of breaks to keep even nervous dogs comfortable throughout the session.

What if my dog is anxious or has bitten before?

Please tell us in advance so we can plan for it. We take extra time with anxious dogs, use calming handling, and are honest about what we can safely do. For dogs with a bite history we may use a soft muzzle for everyone's safety — it does not hurt and we still give them a great groom.

What vaccines are required for a grooming-only visit?

Rabies only for grooming-only visits. A quick photo or email from your vet works great. Dogs staying for boarding or daycare need the full vaccine set.

Can I watch or stay during the groom?

We ask owners to drop off and return at pickup. Most dogs settle in faster once their person leaves, and it keeps the grooming floor calm for every dog in the building.

Do you groom cats?

Yes. We are one of the few shops in Panama City that takes cats. Feline-trained groomers, a quiet environment, and no cage dryers — see our cat grooming page for details.

What if my dog is matted?

We never tug through painful mats. If the coat is too tight to brush out safely, the kindest option is a shave-down — we will walk you through it at drop-off and the coat grows back beautifully. A fresh start is almost always better than a painful de-mat.

How often should I have my dog groomed?

Doodles every 4 to 6 weeks, shepherds and double-coated breeds every 6 to 8 weeks, huskies about every 8 weeks for a deshedding blowout. Short-coated dogs can stretch to 8 to 12 weeks.

Do I need an appointment for dog grooming?

Yes — we strongly recommend booking in advance as walk-in availability is limited. Book online at /book or call (850) 257-5776.
