iDogCam cameras, inside your booking dashboard

Animal Friends OS displays your iDogCam live camera feeds directly inside the software where you manage bookings, staff, grooming, boarding, and clients. No extra tabs. No separate app. No copy-pasting URLs. Real-time MJPEG streams, proxied securely through our backend.

Free trial of Animal Friends OS — no credit card required. iDogCam service billed separately by iDogCam.

How the integration works

Two independent services, one unified dashboard. iDogCam handles the streaming, camera management, and camera billing. Animal Friends OS handles everything else — and displays your cameras inside the same screen you already use every day.

📹 iDogCam provides

Camera streaming service, installation guidance, compatibility with 95% of cameras (any RTSP-capable camera works), live MJPEG feeds for every kennel and play area, and their own billing relationship with you for the camera service.

🖥 Animal Friends OS provides

The dashboard where your cameras appear. Bookings, kennel assignments, staff scheduling, grooming, payroll, QuickBooks, SMS — all in one place. Your cameras show up right inside the software your team uses every day.

🔒 Security you can trust

Camera credentials never touch the browser. Animal Friends OS proxies every stream through our backend using short-lived HMAC-signed tokens, so your iDogCam auth never leaks through page source or dev tools.

Setup takes two minutes

Once you have an iDogCam account, connecting it to Animal Friends OS is a 3-step flow. No dev work, no API keys to generate, no code to write.

Get your credentials from iDogCam

iDogCam provides two values when your account is set up: a Kennel ID (your unique facility number) and an ERP Code (your facility passcode). That's it. If you already have iDogCam cameras, you already have these — contact iDogCam at support@idogcam.com.

Open Animal Friends OS → Settings → Cameras

Log into your Animal Friends OS dashboard, go to the Cameras section, and click the Settings button. You'll see two input fields: Kennel ID and ERP Code. Paste them in.

Click Test Connection, then Sync Cameras

The Test Connection button verifies your credentials by fetching your facility name. Then click Sync Cameras — your entire camera list appears in the dashboard within seconds. Every new camera you add with iDogCam in the future shows up automatically next time you open the Cameras page.

Don't have iDogCam yet?

iDogCam is our trusted partner for live pet cameras. They handle camera streaming, setup guidance, and camera billing — so you can focus on running your facility. iDogCam works with about 95% of all cameras, as long as there is an RTSP stream. Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions pet care operators ask us most about this integration.

Who bills me for the cameras — iDogCam or Animal Friends OS?
iDogCam bills you directly for their camera streaming service. Animal Friends OS only displays the feeds inside your dashboard. You will have one card on file with iDogCam for the camera service and a separate card on file with Animal Friends OS for the software ($45/month, 14-day free trial).
Do I need to already have iDogCam cameras to use the integration?
No — iDogCam works with about 95% of all cameras out there, as long as there is an RTSP stream. You do not need to purchase cameras from iDogCam, but can if needed. You do need an active iDogCam account. If you already have iDogCam, paste your credentials into Animal Friends OS and cameras appear within seconds. If you do not have iDogCam yet, contact iDogCam at support@idogcam.com or call 424-229-2146 to get started.
What credentials do I need to enter in Animal Friends OS?
Just two values that iDogCam gives you: your Kennel ID and your ERP Code. The shared partner API key is held server-side by Animal Friends OS and never exposed to customers — you will never see or paste an API key yourself.
Can my boarding clients watch their own pet on the camera?
Yes. When the integration is enabled and cameras are mapped to kennels, boarding clients can log into their client portal and see the camera feed for the kennel their pet is checked into. No separate login, no extra apps, no QR codes.
What happens if I cancel iDogCam?
Your cameras will stop showing up in Animal Friends OS automatically because the integration pulls the live camera list from iDogCam on every page load. Your Animal Friends OS subscription continues unaffected — you just will not see any cameras until you reactivate with iDogCam.
Does the integration cost extra on top of Animal Friends OS?
No. The iDogCam integration is included in the standard Animal Friends OS plan ($45/month). You only pay iDogCam for the cameras themselves, directly. We charge nothing extra for displaying them.
Is there a rate limit or per-view charge?
No rate limit and no per-view charge. Animal Friends OS caches your camera list for 5 minutes per request and proxies stream views through our backend without hitting iDogCam for every frame. Watch as much as you want, as often as you want.
How do I report a broken camera or get support?
For camera streaming issues (offline camera, blurry image, audio problems), contact iDogCam directly at support@idogcam.com or call 424-229-2146. For dashboard display issues (camera not appearing in Animal Friends OS, sync problems), contact our support team at support@animalfriendsos.com.
