Answers to the 20 most common grooming questions we get from Panama City pet owners. Can't find your answer? Call us — we're happy to help.

How much does dog grooming cost in Panama City, FL?
Baths start from $40 for small dogs, full grooms with haircuts range $65-$130 depending on breed, size, and coat condition. See our full pricing page for details.
How often should I groom my dog?
It depends on breed and coat type. Curly-coated dogs (poodles, doodles) need grooming every 4-6 weeks. Double-coated breeds (labs, huskies) every 6-8 weeks. Short-coated breeds every 8-12 weeks. Read our full grooming frequency guide.
What is included in a full groom?
Every full groom includes bath with premium shampoo, blow-dry, breed-specific haircut, ear cleaning, nail trim, sanitary trim, paw pad trim, and a nose-to-tail wellness check. Learn about the difference between a bath and full groom.
Do you groom cats?
Yes! We have a dedicated cat grooming room separate from the dog areas. We offer baths, de-shedding, lion cuts, nail trims, and ear cleaning. See our cat grooming page.
What vaccinations does my dog need for grooming?
We require current rabies and DHPP (distemper/parvo combo). Bordetella (kennel cough) is recommended but not required for grooming-only visits. Bring proof at your first visit.
Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?
We are appointment-only for full grooms and baths. Nail trims are available as walk-ins for $20.80 during business hours. Book online or call (850) 257-5776.
How long does a grooming appointment take?
A bath takes 1-2 hours, a full groom takes 2-3 hours depending on breed and coat condition. We never rush — your dog gets unhurried, one-on-one attention.
Can you groom matted dogs?
Yes, within reason. Severely matted coats may require a humanitarian shave-down for the dog's comfort and safety. We'll discuss options with you before starting and never force-brush a painfully matted dog.
Do you offer de-shedding treatments?
Yes! De-shedding is an add-on ($15-$35 based on coat) that removes loose undercoat using specialized tools and high-velocity drying. Especially popular for Golden Retrievers, Labs, and Huskies.
What is FurPlan and how does it save money on grooming?
FurPlan is our monthly membership starting at $48.88/mo. It includes 2 baths per month, 50% off all full grooms, free nail trims, and 10% off boarding. Most members save $300+ per year. Join FurPlan.
Do you use sedation for grooming?
Never. We use positive reinforcement, treats, and calm handling techniques. If a dog is too stressed or aggressive to groom safely, we'll stop and recommend alternatives rather than force the process.
Can I stay and watch my dog get groomed?
We ask owners to drop off and pick up. Most dogs are calmer without their owner in the room. We send photo updates during the groom and a finished photo before pickup.
Do you handle aggressive or nervous dogs?
We have extensive experience with anxious and difficult dogs. We work at each dog's pace and use patience-based techniques. Most nervous dogs improve dramatically after 2-3 visits. See our article on signs your dog needs a professional groomer.
What shampoos do you use?
Premium pet-safe shampoos tailored to coat type and skin condition. We stock hypoallergenic, oatmeal, whitening, de-shedding, and medicated options. If your dog has skin issues, bring your vet-prescribed shampoo and we'll use it.
Do you offer mobile grooming?
We don't have a mobile grooming van, but we do offer mobile nail trim service ($34.53 at your home) and our Pet Taxi can pick up and return your dog for $15 each way — first return home is free.
What breeds do you groom?
Every breed! From Poodles and Goldendoodles to German Shepherds and Great Danes. Check our full grooming page or browse our breed-specific pages.
Should I shave my double-coated dog in summer?
No! Shaving a double coat (husky, golden retriever, Pomeranian) can damage the coat permanently and actually makes them hotter. We offer safe de-shedding instead. Read more on our Husky grooming page.
Do you groom puppies? How old should they be for their first groom?
Puppies can start grooming at 10-16 weeks. Early grooming teaches them it's normal and prevents adult anxiety. It's not about needing a haircut — it's about socialization. Read our puppy owner checklist.
What are your grooming hours?
Mon-Sat 7AM-6PM, Sunday 9AM-2PM. Last full groom appointments start at 3PM weekdays, 11AM Sunday. Book online for real-time availability.
Do you send before and after photos?
Yes! Every grooming client receives before and after photos. Check out our photo gallery to see real grooming results from our clients.
